The Stonewall Jackson room is the lower room the north wing of the mansion accessible not only through the mansion but also via its own exterior door. It has an en suite bathroom complete with a tiled walk-in shower.
HISTORY: Charles James Faulkner was the U.S. Minister to France during President James Buchanan’s administration. He was removed from his position on May 12, 1861 upon President Abraham Lincoln taking office. During the Civil War, Faulkner served as Adjutant General for Confederate General Stonewall Jackson who would have frequented the home.
INTERESTING FACT: The Stonewall Jackson room has three entry/exit points including two separate points inside the home as well as an exterior door allowing several options in case a quick escape was needed.
